Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot's hair could start a revolution. I've always loved her huge hair and amazing cat eye makeup.  She is the poster child for a sex goddess, and even has a gap, just like me.

The modern day Bardot:
I have to say, Drew may even beat SJP and Gisele with this knock-out do.

Closet Envy

I have always been one of those girls with tons of clothes and a tiny closet (except for a brief stint in college where I had the closet of my dreams). My closet is always cluttered. I’m always finding things that I haven’t seen in years and many still have the tags on them (I know, I’m that bad)… I have jackets and coats strewn all over my room, and my shoes….I’m not even going to go there.

The idea of moving into a new place (with an equally tiny closet) has really inspired me to make the most of my space. I have decided that in order to store all of my belongings, some will have to be on display in my room.

I’ve taken a few notes from fellow fashion bloggers, and have come up with four solutions.

1. A clothing rack displaying a few of my favorite pieces of the season to showcase in my bedroom (I can always rotate these items to make the most of my clothing).

2. A dress form to display my favorite jewels and scarves.

3. Replacing all hangers with velvet slim-line hangers (these protect your clothes, and give you loads more space).

4. A simple shoe rack to display my favorite shoes of the season.

By utilizing these solutions, I should have ample space in my closet (fingers crossed).

Just for fun, closets of the fabulous!

Melted color, need I say more?

Melted color, or "ombre color" is basically haircolor that looks sunkissed at the ends. This trend is EXPLODING all over runways and red carpets. It mimics the natural color that children get at the end of the summer. It is very low maintenance, and celebrities can't get enough of it!

The image above is actually melted color by Fayetteville's own Kelly Cooper from Studio 8 Salon, gorgeous!

Eyebrows

Groomed eyebrows frame your face, and make all the difference in the world.

The worst thing you can do for your appearance is wax or pluck your eyebrows too thin.  The key to beautiful eyebrows is filling them in.  For those of you who have blonde eyebrows, this is for you especially.  Take all of your favorite celebrities for example, they all have amazing eyebrows, because they use a pencil or liner to make them big and beautiful.

Go to a professional to shape your eyebrows, then have a makeup artist match a pencil or shadow to your brows.

The bigger the better. Avoid rainbow shaped brows.

Audrey Hepburn made brows famous.

Have a makeup artist teach you the ropes the first time.

Perfect celebrity brows.

Don't be scared to darken your brows if you have blonde hair.

Give styling your brows a try, I promise you won't regret it!

Fur Real

Yesterday my fashion-savvy friend Garrett brought up an controversial topic, fur.  Let me quote her directly:

"I'm sorry but what is up with this faux fur coat ridiculousness? In no way are they original, classy, or even remotely flattering. They remind me if what a grandmother would wear to a winter funeral and embody, in a tangible form, everything that is wrong with cycles...But I digress..."

The picture above accompanied her rant.

Personally, I have always been one to wear both real fur and faux fur. Fur should always look luxurious, classy, and undeniably provocative.  For me, fur represents the glamour of old Hollywood.

It does not matter if your fur is faux or real, it should never, I repeat never, look FRUMPY.  Fur that is frumpy defeats the whole purpose of wearing fur in the first place.  If you choose to wear fur that is faux, choose a piece that looks like it's real.

They make faux pieces nowadays that literally need the tag checked in order to determine the material.  I have compiled a collection of fur-tastic looks below that include both faux and real fur.  The ticket? You can't tell the difference and these looks are anything but dowdy.

So go ahead and wear your sumptuous fur with pride, nobody has to, or should know if it's faux or the real deal.

Happy Thursday!
