Life in Color

I'm jumping out of my fashion box for a moment to tell what's currently inspiring me.

I have always toyed around with the thought of having an orange dining room.  I want lavish crown molding, antique gold heavily gilded mirrors and loads of colorful abstract art. Oh, and did I forget, a crystal chandelier as the icing on the quirkily decadent cake.  I was searching the web for inspiration and came across these perfect spaces:

Oh and I didn't stop with dining rooms, look at this beautiful mango kitchen.  The added touches, like the mirror and painting and orchid, it almost inspires me to try my hand at cooking...I could live in a kitchen like this.

p.s. tell me your thoughts
Lately I've found myself wondering if I should've pursued buying as a career.  Shopping as an occupation seems blissful. I know there is loads more to being a buyer than merely shopping but maybe something in fashion industry will discover my desires and find me....que sera sera.

Browsing through shopbop today and stumbled across these delectable creations:

Recent Obsessions

Benefit's Benetint.  Such a great product.  I have rather light colored lips naturally and this gives them the perfect semi-permanent bee stung look.

These new open-toed oxford heels and they're only $25 for a pair! Great with any summer outfit.  I have recently paired them with denim shorts, gold jewelry and a frilly white blouse.

I tend to find a hairstyle and stick to it.  For winter I'm very into hot rolled, Brigitte Bardot locks.  For hot weather, I have recently decided that two twists pinned back at the crown is a perfect summer do.  The messier the better, who needs fuss when it's so steamy outside.

And my last but not least recent obsession, asos.com.  This site is filled with wonderful clothes and swimsuits.  Here are a few of my picks:

Clean Up Woman- Betty Wright

Back from Mexicooo woohooo! The last comment on my previous entry seriously jumpstarted my writing.  That was so sweet, I love comment encouragement.  I'm so excited for warm weather and summer clothes!  Lately I have been really into cutoff jorts (jean shorts)...I know that sounds weird but seriously old cut off mom jeans make the best ones.

Jorts have the ability to turn a chic outfit casual, which is often necessary in the summer months.  These pictures below are of my friend Alex.  She has great personal style and kills anything casual.  I plan to have her guest write on my blog in the future while she gets her own blog underway.

Shirt- Collective Clothing
Shorts- Levi 501's
Bag- Melie Bianco
Shoes- Sam Edelman
Rings- Forever 21

Oh and also I went to a toga party and included a pic below.  I was dying for a neon pink toga but all I could find was swimsuit fabric...so obviously, I bought it.  And let me just tell you, if you ever go to a toga party, BUY THIS FABRIC! It was so easy to tie I barely had to use any pins, while I was pinning my roommates into their satin togas for seriously 5 hours!

I missed you blogging world! Tell me what you think!
