If I Were a Rich Girl..

I am so excited to have been selected as a Shop It To Me Trendsetter!  I'm featured on the Shop It To Me trendsetters page here:  http://www.shopittome.com/trendsetterstrendsetters

You simply select the designers that you care to shop for and enter in your sizes. When these designers have pieces in your size on sale, you are alerted by email! You also control the days in which your "sale mail" is sent to you.  Such an amazing idea.

Other news, browsing Net-a-Porter today and created a mental wish list...

Here are a few pieces that really caught my eye:

Concrete Schoolyard

Sorry for the recent lack of posts, I'm currently home without my precious laptop.

I just recently went shopping and have loads of outfit post ideas that I can't wait to share.

Here are a few photos from my most recent editorial shoot. The locations we shot were amazing, an old abandoned laundry mat, a flea market, an out of order gas station, and in a vintage powder blue convertible.

A few of the other photos from the shoot are featured on the right.  All credited to Meredith Mashburn photography.

Needless to say, it was marvelous.

Featured on Mr. Jaammj

Recently Mr. Jaammj contacted me and asked if I would write out a little interview for his blog.  Jaammj.com features snippets about different artists, exhibitions, fashionistas's etc.  It's always nice to have someone appreciate what you are doing and to spread the word!

Here is the interview:
How did you start Ashes of Laughter?

I am actually very new to the blogging world. I only created my blog as of late January 2010. I happened across Liz Cherkasova’s blog, Late Afternoon, and instantly fell in love with the idea of a blog. A place to share every thought crossing my mind, however random it may be. I also love any and everything fashion. Fashion is not something that should be taken seriously, the whole idea should be light-hearted and fun, something to brighten a rainy day.

How did you come up with the name Ashes of Laughter?

I have always been very interested in the music world. I think it’s incredible how a song can completely change your mood and outlook. I happened to choose the name “Ashes of Laughter” because the song “Ophelia” by The Band had been playing in my head, on my computer, in my car, for weeks. I tend to find a song and play it until it no longer evokes the same mood-changing magic it originally did upon first play.

What is your favorite accessory?

I am OBSESSED with rings, especially cocktail rings. In my opinion the bigger, the better.

Is there any fashion advice you would like to pass on to your readers?

I feel that an outfit thrown on at the last minute can often look the most put together. Don’t stunt your creativity by overly planning your outfit, you want it to look effortless.

Home.

It's always amazing to be able to go home and feel as if nothing has changed.  I was browsing through Lulu's look-books (who knew they had them?) and found a few lustworthy stylings.

Save Me San Francisco

"Save me, San Francisco" by Train has seriously been on repeat in my car for two weeks.  The perfect song for summer a drive.

This is an outfit that I wore out last night.  Very casual.  I have been doing that a lot lately, dressing casual. I'm thinking it's due to the sweltering weather. Busted out my new Cynthia Vincent wedges for Target (don't worry I had to go to three to find them).  Hope you enjoy!

Lace Top- Moda International
Jean Shorts- Forever 21
Wedges- Cynthia Vincent for Target
Rings and Gold Cuff- Forever 21
(Mother of Pearl Ring-??)

Oh and I really need to tell you about my newfound obsession.  If you are like me, you ALWAYS have chipped nail polish or none at all.  Well I came across this little lifesaver and am already building a collection of colors.

(via prettyconnected.com)

It dries almost right after you apply it and also comes in a full spectrum of vibrant (amazing) colors.  Oh and did I forget to mention, the brush is flat and the tip is circular for perfect application!

Tell me what you think!

LIVE in technicolor

Went out for a friends birthday this past weekend, and decided to make an outfit post of it.

Oh and featured in the post is my St. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album that I matted in pink and framed after seeing it in Spain two years ago.

It took me almost a full year to track it down and I finally stumbled upon it in a grungy record shop in West Village. Unfortunately it's still sitting on the floor of my room... I move in two weeks so I'll see if I can give it the space on the wall it deserves.

p.s. excuse my sorry excuse for painted nails, and red eyes.

Raided my roomy Caroline's fabulous closet and found these babes:
Dress- Cherish
Belt-Vintage
Clutch- MARC by Marc Jacobs

These are my own (unfortunately her foot is a 5 1/2):
Shoes- Mixx Shuz
Rings- Forever 21
